Dear Parents and Caregivers
The Year 6 Exhibition “Festival of Action” culminates next Wednesday and Thursday with presentations to the school community as well as to members of the wider ESF Community.
Our Year 6 children have been working hard for the past 7 weeks on a particular focus area that they are passionate about. A lot, but not all, have focused on two of the United Nations Global Goals around ‘life on land”, and “life below water”. The children, with the support of the Year 6 teaching team and a coach (another adult from within the school), have been focusing on key questions that they would like to answer, researching, gaining information from an expert and of course taking action. They have had to demonstrate a range of skills and attitudes that they have been developing as they journey through the PYP program. We are very proud of our Year 6 children in terms of their learning and the action they have taken. We wish them all the very best for their presentations next week.
I am delighted to announce that Anna Casley is expecting her first child in September and the School Council have approved her request to take leave for next academic year so that she can spend time with her child. We will shortly be advertising for someone to join our teaching staff to replace Anna for the next academic year. We hope to have completed the recruitment by the end of May at which time we will be in a position to announce who will be teaching what year groups next year. Congratulations Anna!
Finally, a reminder that our Year 1-5 Student Led Conferences take place on May 25. Children only come to school on that day during the time slot that you book. If you have not already done so, please book your time slot on Gateway. You can book on Gateway up until the 23rd of May.
Enjoy your weekend everyone and thank you for your continued support.
If you are withdrawing your child at the end of this academic year, please complete the withdrawal notice and return it to our school office by 1 June 2018. Otherwise, we will assume that your child is returning after summer and parents are liable to the tuition fees for September 2018 even if the student does not return to school.
Please email the school office to obtain the student withdrawal notice, or download it HERE.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our school office at tel no 2849 7211.

Year 6 Exhibition (Poaching)
Hi our names are Ian, Mathias and Josh. In year 6 we’re doing our ‘Festival of Action’ where we use our passions to take action and make a difference.
For our ‘Festival of Action’ we are helping to raise awareness to stop poaching. For our action we have made a website to inform people about what’s happening to the earths’ animals and how they can help.
Here’s the link to our website, check it out: https://grunbm1.wixsite.com/mysite
Charlie Berger, 2R
A couple of weeks ago Charli and her friends held a lemonade stand at her home. She made $310, she then very generously donated $205 to the Peak School garden and $105 to a local dog rescue.
Charli has taken action to help others and 2R wanted to recognise this and applaud her for being such a responsible and thoughtful person. Well done Charli for using your proceeds to make Peak School a more beautiful place and making our canine friends happy too.
