Peak School’s latest newsletter is available to read now. Find out the latest news around the school and upcoming events.
It was such a pleasure to see so many of our school community members attend the Lantern Festival last Friday night. It is always a special night and it is no surprise to hear that it is the highlight of the year for many. It is amazing that a school with only 360 children can attract over 800 people to such an event.
A lot of new parents I spoke to talked about the “feel” of the event and commented on how positive the atmosphere was on the night. I strongly believe this is a true reflection of the Peak School community and hence why it is such a special place to be part of.
I also had a lot of parents comment about the upper playground and how it would be great to have more access to it outside of school hours. It became apparent that not everyone is aware that we actually rent the space out to families on a Sunday afternoon for birthday parties. To qualify for this you have to be a Peak School parent and your child has to have a birthday in the month that you book it. If you would like to know more about booking the upper playground for your child’s birthday party please contact Anton in the office as he coordinates the bookings. Obviously there are limited spaces so it literally is “first in, first served”.
As you would have appreciated on Friday night, we also have lights on the upper playground and we are keen to rent out the upper playground for evenings during the week. Perhaps you know of a sports club or team that is desperate for a training pitch or know of a coach who is looking for a place to train his or her team from 6.30pm onwards. If you do, can you please put them in touch with Anton.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Parent Volunteers Needed PLEASE
If you are able to spare any time between 8:30 – 10:30 Monday mornings in our Gardening Club your help would be really appreciated! If you are unable to come weekly but can come on an occasional Monday that would great too! No gardening experience necessary, we have all the tools – just make sure you are fully covered and bring a hat. We are working on getting all the plant plots ready for the children to start sowing seeds. If you have any questions please email Charlene at email@example.com
Over the past few weeks many of our students have been demonstrating they are COMMUNICATORS and RISK TAKERS and that they are developing greater RESPONSIBILITY by trying out for several leadership positions. Each class from Year 3-5 has been electing two Student Councillors and four House Prefects.
Students applying for these roles in Year 6 have given their presentations to the entire school and all students have had the responsibility to vote.
We have been very impressed by the high standard of presentations and the commitment all students have demonstrated in applying for these positions. Thank you to ALL students who took a risk by trying for these roles.
Student Councillors will attend meetings to discuss student ideas for improvement in the student life of Peak School.
House Prefects will work closely with the Year 6 House Captains to collect house points and to develop a sense of teamwork and belonging in our Peak School Houses.
Congratulations to the following students
This year four other leadership roles have been assigned.
- Tanya Khanduri, 6B
- Sophie Williams, 6B
- Anum Javed, 6CB
- Christine DaSilva, 6CB
These are our Student Ambassadors who will assist with school tours for prospective parents and families.

We will be offering a parent workshop on Wednesday, 27 September from 8:45 – 10:00 am at the Library ILE. The workshop is targeted for parents / guardians who are new to Peak School or joined in the latter part of last school year. There will be two sessions. The first session is about how to support your child/children at home by learning how to use different online learning tools. The second session will be a presentation from Mandarin Matrix, the online program that our Y4-Y6 children use.
Here is the LINK for registration. Look forward to meeting you at the Peak School!
