Principal’s Message

Dear Parents/Caregivers

It was too hot and sunny a week ago, and now it is simply too wet!  The joys of Hong Kong weather in the summer.  It has actually been a challenge to manage as a school as we sometimes had to keep the children inside during their breaks, because of the heat during the sunny weather, and of course this week we have been stuck inside owing to the wet.  I can only assume this provides a challenge for you at home as well as the children are potentially apartment bound with lots of energy.

In my blog this week, which you can access by clicking HERE:

  • CIS Parent Survey Data – a breakdown of parental responses to every single question asked.  Find out what is working well at Peak School and what areas we need to develop further
  • Tedx Talk – Learn more about our very own Jane Engelmann talking at the recent Tedx Talk in Hong Kong over last weekend.
  • Phones and smart watches in School – a reminder of our stance on phones and a new issue re watches connected to a 4G network.
  • The Magic Flute (Part 1) – thanks for the Learning Technologies team we can now watch Part 1 of the Magic Flute.  Part 2 and 3 to follow in the coming weeks.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,
Bill Garnett

The 4th International Zhou Youguang Cup Chinese Talent Show (Hong Kong)

On Saturday May 26, the Award Ceremony was held at the Bradbury School. There were 669 participants with a total of 209 prizes given out.  Peak School children did really well with 36 participants and 12 of them won their prizes. Ian Lam (5R) and Hannah Willis (5S) both got to perform their modern poems as they were overall Champions for their age groups. Hannah Willis was also one of two students to win the overall Ambassador award. The highest award given on the day!

Well done to all the participants from Peak School for the great efforts they put in for practice!  You made us very proud for your willingness to take a step further in the learning journey!  Keep up the good work!
